Using Materialised Views in Loan Applications

This guide shows you how to use Materialised Views when working with loan applications in Banclo. Views make your job easier by automatically gathering information from different parts of the loan file and presenting it in an organised, easy-to-read format.

What You'll Find in This Guide

This guide covers everything you need to know about using Materialised Views in your daily work, from accessing views in loan applications to understanding what information is displayed. You'll learn how to use the audit features effectively and work with different types of views that may be configured in your system.

Accessing Views in a Loan Application

Finding the Views Tab

When you open a loan application, you'll see several tabs at the top of the screen. The "Views" tab appears alongside other familiar tabs like "Tasks," "Bids," and "Documents." Simply open any loan application from your loan list and click the "Views" tab to see all available materialised views for that specific application. You'll see a list of all views you have permission to access, organised according to your role and the bank's configuration.

Understanding the Views Interface

The Views section has two main parts that work together to give you efficient access to information. The left sidebar provides quick navigation, showing all available views for the current loan along with their names, descriptions, and current status (completed, processing, or failed). You can click any view name to jump directly to that section.

The main content area displays the actual view information in a clean, formatted layout that updates automatically when underlying information changes. This dual-panel approach lets you quickly navigate between different views while maintaining context about where you are in the overall information structure.

Types of Information in Views

Depending on how your views are configured, you might see:

Personal Information

  • Applicant names and contact details
  • Employment information
  • Income details
  • Family information

Financial Details

  • Credit scores and history
  • Income verification results
  • Debt obligations
  • Financial ratios and calculations

Property Information

  • Property address and details
  • Valuation amounts
  • Property type and features

Loan Details

  • Loan amounts and terms
  • Interest rates
  • Fees and charges
  • Multiple loan facilities (if applicable)

Understanding View Status

Each view shows its current status:

✅ Completed

  • The view has current, up-to-date information
  • All required data is available
  • Information is ready to review

🔄 Processing

  • The view is being updated with new information
  • Wait a moment and refresh if needed
  • Information will be available shortly

❌ Failed

  • There was an issue creating the view
  • Contact your system administrator
  • May need missing information to be completed

⏳ Pending

  • The view hasn't been evaluated yet
  • Usually means required tasks aren't completed
  • Complete necessary tasks to populate the view

Working with Multi-Applicant Information

For joint applications with multiple borrowers, views can show information in different ways:

Individual Sections

Each applicant has their own section showing:

  • Personal details specific to them
  • Their employment and income information
  • Their credit information
  • Their role in the application (main applicant, co-applicant, guarantor)

Combined Information

Summary sections that show:

  • Total household income
  • Combined debts and obligations
  • Overall application metrics

Multi-Facility Loans

If your loan has multiple components (like a mortgage plus finishing loan), views can display:

Individual Facilities

  • Mortgage details (amount, rate, term)
  • Finishing loan details
  • Furnishing loan details
  • Other facility types

Overall Summary

  • Total loan amount across all facilities
  • Average or weighted interest rates
  • Combined fees and charges

Using Audit Features

Views include audit features to track usage and meet compliance requirements:

Mark as Viewed

Click the eye icon (👁️) when you've reviewed the information. This:

  • Records that you've seen the view
  • Creates an audit trail entry
  • Helps track application progress

Mark as Consumed

Click the checkmark icon (✅) when you've acted on the information. This:

  • Shows the information has been processed
  • Updates workflow tracking
  • Triggers any automated next steps

View History

Click the history icon (📋) to see:

  • Who has viewed this information
  • When it was accessed
  • What actions were taken
  • Complete audit trail for compliance

Tips for Effective Use

Daily Workflow

  • Start by checking the Views tab when opening a loan application
  • Use views to get a quick overview before diving into detailed tasks
  • Mark information as viewed/consumed to track your progress

Information Accuracy

  • Views update automatically when underlying data changes
  • Always check the "last updated" timestamp
  • If information seems outdated, try refreshing the page
  • Use the sidebar navigation to quickly jump between views
  • Views are ordered by importance/frequency of use
  • Bookmark frequently used view combinations

Troubleshooting Common Issues

View Shows "No Data"

  • Check if all required tasks are completed
  • Some views need loan bids to be generated first
  • Contact support if information should be available

Information Appears Incorrect

  • Views pull information directly from source tasks
  • Check the original task if data seems wrong
  • Updates to source tasks will automatically update views

Cannot See Expected Views

  • Views are role-based - you only see ones for your job function
  • Contact your administrator if you need access to additional views
  • Some views may be bank-specific

Slow Loading

  • Complex views with lots of information may take a moment to load
  • Try refreshing if a view seems stuck
  • Large applications with many applicants may load more slowly

Best Practices

Review Regularly

  • Check views early in your application review process
  • Use them to identify missing or inconsistent information
  • Leverage views to prepare for client meetings or approvals

Audit Compliance

  • Always mark views as viewed when you review them
  • Use the consumed marking when you've acted on information
  • This ensures proper audit trails and compliance

Collaboration

  • Views provide a consistent way for team members to see information
  • Use audit history to see what colleagues have reviewed
  • Share view information in discussions with confidence it's current
